Type on a PDF and keep it editable New
Text you add with the Text tool now stays live and editable — reopen the file here, or in Acrobat or Nitro, click the text and retype it. Prefer it fixed? Turn off “Keep typed text editable” and the text is flattened permanently into the page.
Your licence no longer loses a seat when you restart New
Each computer is now recognised by a stable identity, so restarting your PC — or plugging in a dock, VPN or Bluetooth device — no longer looks like a new machine. One computer uses exactly one seat, every day.
Signing a folder keeps your originals safe
When you sign a whole folder, every signed file is saved beside the original as a new "…_novelsign.pdf" — your original files are never changed, exactly like single-file signing.

Web-sign — they sign in their browser, no app needed New Enterprise
The easiest way yet to get a signature from someone who doesn't have novel pdf studio: create a secure Web-sign link and send it any way you like. The recipient opens it in any browser, reviews the document, and signs with their own DSC USB token via a tiny one-time helper (novelSigner). The signed PDF returns to you automatically — encrypted end-to-end: the decryption key travels only inside the link, never to any server, and each link works exactly once.
Verified contacts & live status in novel Connect New
Connect with someone before you send: enter their secret connect code for an instant, verified link, or send a connect request they approve on their device. See who's online now or when they were last seen, so you know whether to expect an immediate reply — and documents only go app-to-app to contacts you've actually connected with. No personal directory: the relay only ever holds public keys and a code fingerprint, never names, emails or phone numbers.
Right-click a PDF to get started — anywhere in Windows
Right-click any PDF and choose Open, Edit, Sign, Sign & send, or Combine files with novel pdf studio — no need to open the app first. Select several PDFs and "Combine files" drops them all into the merge list. (On Windows 11 these sit under "Show more options.") Received a Sign Packet (.nsr)? Just double-click it — or right-click for Open and Sign & return — and it opens ready to sign in novel Connect.
Switch and close files faster
Move between open documents with Ctrl+Tab (and Ctrl+Shift+Tab to go back), and close the current file with the ✕ next to its name or Ctrl+W — even when only one file is open.
Turn a logo into a crisp SVG
Under Convert → Image → SVG, turn a PNG or JPG company logo into a scalable vector (.svg) you can resize without losing quality — ideal for a signature mark or your website.
Send documents to others for signature — novel Connect Enterprise
Ask someone else to sign a document without a cloud service. Send it over WhatsApp, email, or one click app-to-app; they open it in novel pdf studio and sign with their own DSC token, and it comes straight back to you — encrypted end-to-end, nothing readable on any server. Track it: Sent → Opened → Returned. Works offline too, as an encrypted "Sign Packet" you share any way.
